It is amazing to think that a whole island as big as Madeira was created by a volcano (and in fact 3/4 of it is under water). But when you see the beaches and these amazing rocks that are a deep black, you get a little closer to it’s amazing history. I loved the shimmer of the soft fading sunlight on these wet rocks and the crashing wave added the perfect finishing touch.
