Chasing Volcanoes - Episode II

I had one of the best nights of photography I can remember whilst in Iceland in July 2021. Here are a few of the images from the YouTube video and some more additional ones I haven’t shared yet.

Me and a Volcano!!!!

A 2 shot pano HDR with my DJI magic 2 pro.

The colours in the highlands were so amazing. One thing you have to be careful about in scenes like this is getting caught up in the magnificence and not concentrating on composition.

The pastel colours were breathtaking this evening. I just tried to take a balanced shot with my long lens.

This is the last sun we had on the mountains. Trying to work out where to compose the edges on these images is really hard. I think this worked well and love the shapes and colours.

The sunset wasn’t a really strong colour so I have edited this respectfully to show the pastel nature of the peaceful evening.

I had everything on this amazing sunrise. The moon and the colours just before the sun rose in the blue hour were breathtaking.

Probably my favourite shot. It was actually more difficult to compose than I thought. And tried to get a balance between the gap in the clouds on the RHS and the lake on the LHS. It worked I think and this was my volcano for the morning.

I had to have a sunrise volcano selfie!

A shot in the other direction. The mountains in the distance were the range I was shooting earlier that evening.

This was from the following evening. I didn’t actually vlog but wanted to show this image as really like it.
