This was taken from Sentinel Dome on a recent trip to Yosemite. Living in California provides some unparalleled opportunity for photography. I am looking forward to going back in the Winter!
Moments after sunset, Yosemite (winter)
We were extremely lucky the evening we went to tunnel view to watch the sunset over Yosemite Valley as we had clouds. They make such a difference to the image. The purple tones just after sunrise are amazing.
Morning rays, Yosemite Valley
Sometimes in photography you have to take advantage of moments that quickly disappear. I didn't have my tripod for this image but managed to get the shot I was looking for creating a mystical photograph.
Evening Pastel Light Rays, Yosemite
This is an image from my recent photographic vlog in Yosemite national park.
I love the light so much. It only lasted about 30 mins and then the fog that created it cleared. An example of fleeting moments in the landscape.
Golden Sunset - Tiburon Preserve
I had returned to this location in Tiburon many times to try and photograph sunset but never got the correct conditions. In this image everything came together. Photograph is all about light and this shot shows why
Above the Clouds, Mt Tam
Mount Tamalpais is an amazing place in the fog and the best time to capture this beauty is in the morning. This was an sunrise shoot from a long hike in the dark
The morning light is often my favourite light in the hills. For this image I hiked up in the dark (You can see my YouTube episode here - SUNRISE Photography TIPS At The Golden Gate Bridge | Image to Print ) and decided to concentrate on the foreground and path and only include one tower of the Golden Gate bridge on purpose as thought it was unique. A word that now isn't often associated with the Golden Gate Bridge and photography!
Morning Fog from Tiburon
I was lucky enough to spend 1 year in San Francisco with work and this view was a short walk from my house. The fog changes so much in summertime and it was a case of waiting for the right conditions so Belvedere and the Golden Gate Bridge were just peeping through.
Last light, Yosemite
If you have ever been to Yosemite you will probably have spent time at Valley view. This is looking back down towards there from Sentinel Dome. The late evening sun in the summer is amazing and cast glorious rays across the recession of mountains. El Capitan is just visible on the right hand side of this image.
The Golden Gate Bridge is probably one of the most photographed landmarks in the world. With this image I was trying to work with 3 elements, Light, People and the city / bridge to convey a story of what I saw whenever I visited - 100s of photographers!
