Preparing for Autumn Photography

In this week’s video I talk about how I go about scouting for new potential Autumn compositions. It is amazing how many images you can find in your local woodland. I have visited this woodland hundreds of times with Pebbles, my Springer Spaniel but I still find a new amazing location with Beech and Oak trees. The occasional silver birch adds even more magic to the scenes.

Make sure you check out the video here for some great tips on finding woodland compositions.

Here are some of the images I talk about in the video. These are just scouting images but when I go back I will have a head start on my autumn photography and will be able to concentrate on the fine tuning rather then finding the compositions.

The Four Beeches (50mm)

These four beeches looked incredible against the rocks in the background. Once the leaves change colour in mid-late October I think this will be a really good composition. It maybe one to try in the evening when I will be shooting into the sun as well. The closer in shot below is probably my favourite.

The Four Beeches / Version 2 (around 100mm)

Here are a few over potential composition I found that come the autumn and a foggy morning could look amazing! I really can’t wait.
